Hi guys! I'm Caroline Fishbein. I'm a freshman and a day student. I did a couple of musicals in middle school and also do volleyball. I also was in chorus and concert choir for my school which was really fun. I live in Southington and went to Depaolo Middle School, which is one of the two public middle schools in the town.
One interesting thing about me is that I absolutely love the musical Hamilton. I was introduced to the play at the end of sixth grade and have been addicted to the music ever since. The cast is so talented, and they really tell a story. I went to see the play with my mom and aunt in New York City on July 29th this past summer. It was awesome! The show was amazing, but I went to the stage door at the end of the show, and was in the front for the signatures. I got signatures 5 from some of my favorite people in the cast! It really was a dream come true!

I also have been playing volleyball for a little while now. I'm a beginner at the sport...I'm not that good. But I plan on working at trying to get better this year and hopefully will try out for the volleyball team here at Cheshire Academy next fall. I did a camp this summer at Cheshire High School to build some basic, fundamental skills. It also was a good confidence booster. I did it with a couple of friends of mine which also made it really fun. Attacking the ball is my favorite skill, so I enjoy working on that and all the other skills.

I am also my toughest critic. I seek perfection, which sometimes isn't a great thing. Sometimes, I drive myself crazy, in terms of studying or projects and homework assignments. I just want to do the absolute best that I can, so I guess that's where I get it from. That's why it's sometimes fun in theater to just be someone else, where I can forget all the responsibilities that I have. I use acting as an escape from the real world where there's so much going on. It allows me to relax and just have fun and it's what I really love doing.

This year, I really hope to just grow as an actress. I am ready to take on uncomfortable challenges and want to be outside my comfort zone. I want to pick up new skills that I haven't been taught before, and hopefully implement them in my performances. I really love musicals since I love singing and dancing, and I know how much of an impact they have on the audience. Theater not only brings me a lot of joy, it also brings other people joy. That is why I love being apart of the theater community.
